San Ramon Boat Center, a longtime Cobalt Boats dealership with stores in Rocklin, Calif., and Lake Tahoe, recently announced the sale of the business to Scott Vanderbeek.

Cobalt said Vanderbeek is a veteran automotive dealership owner with more than 30 years of experience in retail business.

San Ramon Boat Center has been a Cobalt dealer since 1971, when owner Frank Warn and Cobalt founder Pack St. Clair met at the San Francisco Boat Show. Together they established the Cobalt Boats brand in northern California and on Lake Tahoe.

San Ramon Boat Center has been the world’s largest Cobalt dealership 21 times.

“Frank and the Warn family have been friends since our first meeting in 1971,” St. Clair said in a statement. “It has been a successful and rewarding 45-year friendship and we look forward to building on the rock-solid foundation for the next generation.”

Vanderbeek and his son Jared will immediately take over the dealership.
