Dr. Shrink announced the winners of its first "Shrink Off" shrink-wrapping contest, held daily during the International BoatBuilders' Exhibition & Conference, which ran Sept. 28-30 in Louisville, Ky.

The three winners were Mike DeVriendt, with a time of 24 minutes; Dustin Hoover, finishing in 19 minutes; and Brett Warish, with a final time of 17 minutes.

The contest was open to all IBEX visitors. Participants had to cover an 18-foot runabout as fast and neatly as possible. Each daily winner received a Shrinkfast 998 heat tool kit worth $650 and sewn shrink-wrap cape.

"The Shrink-Off was very successful and it drew a great crowd of folks to not only observe, but learn more about installing the wrap," company president Mike Stenberg said in a statement. "We plan to hold this event next year, too."
