Ferretti Security and Defense, a new division of the Ferretti Group, is participating in the international defense fair Dimdex in Doha, Qatar, from today through Thursday.
Dimdex is hosting more than 200 companies from more than 30 countries, and 80 delegations.
Ferretti announced its defense division in February. Its activities include the planning, design, development and construction of a range of advanced naval boats. At Dimdex the division is presenting the results of its investment in research and development.
Ferretti said the division’s first Fast Patrol Vessel, FSD 195, is under construction and will be officially launched this summer. It is 65 feet long and can exceed 50 knots for more than 400 miles.
The other boat in the development phase is the FSD 350. Ferretti said it is 116 feet long, moves faster than 45 knots and can host a crew of four and 20 service persons.
“We think that Dimdex, given its international nature, the expertise of its visitors and exhibitors and the strategic importance of the Gulf area, is the most suitable fair to launch our new division, FSD,” Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi said in a statement.
“We represent the group with important projects — the forthcoming inauguration of our first Fast Patrol Vessel. Through FSD we offer our technological know-how, experience and innovation capabilities to the forced arms and government agencies that serve the fundamental and complex case of defense and security of open and coastline waters.”
