Ferretti Yachts scheduled two important launches a few days apart as it prepares for the coming boat shows in Cannes and Fort Lauderdale.

The first Ferretti Yachts 850, an 85.4-foot flybridge yacht, was launched last Monday in Cattolica, Italy. The builder said three have already been sold — two in Europe and one in the Americas.

The Ferretti Yachts 850 is being built at the Cattolica shipyard and is the result of the work of the Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee; Studio Zuccon International Project, for the design of the exteriors and the layout of the interiors; and the Ferretti Group’s engineering department, which handled the engineering, naval architecture and interior design.

The yacht’s official presentation is scheduled for the beginning of September during the Ferretti Group’s private preview in Monte Carlo. It will make its public debut at the Sept. 6-11 Cannes Yachting Festival and will make its North American debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November.

Just a few days before the Ferretti Yachts 850 was launched, the marina at Cesenatico provided the backdrop for another event: the launching of the first Ferretti Yachts 450. The yacht takes the brand back into what the company calls “the strategic 40- to 50-foot segment.”

Built in Forlì and officially unveiled at the start of this year, it also will be presented during the private preview in Monte Carlo.
