Brunswick Corp.-owned Harris Pontoons has named Chris Bernauer as president of the company, effective immediately.

Bernauer joins the Fort Wayne, Ind.-based company from Harley-Davidson, where he most recently served as general manager of global sales and dealer operations. Prior to that role, he was general manager of customer service and operations at HD.

He has also held senior positions at McKinsey and Indian Motorcycles.

“Chris’s deep experience in manufacturing, quality, sales, operations and dealer management will help strengthen our relationships with our customers and provide clear focus and direction to our product portfolio,” said aluminum boat group commercial operations president Jeff Behan in a statement.

Bernauer filled the position left open by Steve Langlais, who became president of Sea Ray Boats last year. In the interim, supply chain vice president Jorge Valdes was to lead the Fort Wayne team.

Bernauer will have full responsibility for the continued growth and strategy of both the Harris and Cypress Cay brands.

“I am honored to join Brunswick and lead the Harris and Cypress Cay brands,” said Bernauer. “Harris is one of the most distinguished names in the pontoon segment and I’m looking forward to working with our award-winning team to provide direction that will drive growth and produce exceptional products that excite and satisfy our customers.”
