Even amid a Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring, Hunter Marine Corp. announced two new dealers to represent the builder's line in North America.

Simple Sailing Charter & Sales is located in St. Petersburg, Fla., and operating out of the municipal marina in St. Petersburg, according to Hunter. It will exclusively represent Hunter’s full line of trailerable small boats and up to the 27-foot keelboat for the Tampa Bay area and the Northern Florida Gulf Coast.

Simple Sailing owner Ed Ecker said that offering charters and sailing lessons will give potential customers a chance to “try before they buy.”

Empire Yacht Sales in Fairhaven, N.Y., will operate out of Fair Point Marina on Lake Ontario. That dealer will serve the upstate New York and western Pennsylvania area.

Empire will exclusively handle Hunter’s full line of keelboats from 27 to 50 feet.

“Empire Yachts is delighted to represent a value brand like Hunter Marine and there is no better time to align themselves with the brand than during Hunter’s reorganizing process,” owner Tim Feagans said.

Hunter is celebrating its 40th year as a builder of sailboats between 15 and 50 feet.
