Marathon Boat Group has named David Porthouse director of operations. Previously, the chief operating officer at Champion Boats, Inc., Porthouse is a veteran of the marine, sporting, shooting and trucking industries.

He will be responsible for production, quality, engineering, new product development and plant management. Porthouse will be based in Marathon, Fla., and will report to KK Tiwari, president of MBG.

“Marathon Boat Group is investing in maximizing our production capacity, improving our manufacturing facility and implementing industry best-in-class lean principles,” Tiwari said in a statement. “And we sought a strong groundbreaker to ensure we achieve these goals.
