Marlow-Mainship 32 debuts with Yanmar diesel engines

The Marlow-Mainship 32, the first launch since Marlow acquired the Mainship molds and rights in 2012, is being powered with Yanmar diesel engines.

Many Mainships traditionally were powered by Yanmar, and the companies announced that Marlow-Hunter will work exclusively with Yanmar.

The Marlow-Mainship 32 has twin Yanmar 4JH4-TCE 75 mph sail drives as a standard power choice. Options include a single 220-mph Yanmar 6BY3 inboard or the 260 mph Yanmar 6BY3 as an upgrade.

"The saildrives offer fantastic fuel efficiency while still maintaining control and maneuverability," Marlow-Hunter president John Peterson said in a statement. "The singles deliver more speed, but remain fuel-efficient. With either choice, maintenance and service are readily available through Yanmar distributors and dealers located worldwide."

The 32 has earned CE Offshore Ocean Class A designation.

The next model, the Marlow-Mainship 37, will debut at the 2014 Miami International Boat Show. Power choices will include twin 220-mhp Yanmar 6BY3 diesel engines or a single Yanmar 320-mhp 8LV.

"In the next 12 to 18 months, Mainship's product line will increase to four boats," Peterson said. "We'll also continue to offer new sailing products, like the new Marlow Hunter 37 with Yanmar engines."
