Marquis Yachts LLC renewed and extended its exclusive design and engineering contract with Nuvolari-Lenard Naval Design in Venice, Italy.

"John Paul DeJoria and I are extremely pleased and excited that we were able to purchase Marquis and Carver Yacht companies and have Nuvolari-Lenard continue as the design and engineering firm for the company," said Irwin Jacobs, chairman of J&D Acquisitions, which recently purchased the former Genmar assets.

"We know that with the Nuvolari-Lenard design team on board along with Marquis' great management team, as well as the financial resources we have made and will continue to make available to Marquis, we believe Marquis has everything in place to be the leader in building the finest quality and most innovative and beautifully designed yachts in the world," Jacobs added.

Carlo Nuvolari, president of Nuvolari-Lenard, said his firm was currently developing new innovations and designs for Marquis that will "clearly demonstrate the strength in the Nuvolari-Lenard/Marquis Yachts relationship."
