MasterCraft sales and marketing manager assumes new role

Schwenk has served as regional sales and marketing manager and has worked in new product development for 11 years.

Zane Schwenk, who has been a pro rider and product developer for MasterCraft boats for more than 20 years, is shifting his role in the company so he can focus on a family business.

Schwenk has served as regional sales and marketing manager and has worked in new product development for 11 years, according to his LinkedIn page.

In a letter to customers and partners, MasterCraft CEO Terry McNew said Schwenk will remain “an important ambassador to the company.”

“There are times in your career when you realize that when trying to describe a colleague, you just can’t put a label on someone,” McNew wrote. “Zane Schwenk is exactly that type of person.”

He went on to detail Schwenk’s work as an athlete — someone who has redefined the sports of waterskiing and wakeboarding — his work as a product developer, helping to create MasterCraft’s boats, using his knowledge of athletes’ needs, and his people skills, which he used in his role as regional sales and marketing manager for MasterCraft.

Schwenk played “an instrumental role” in developing X Star and the Gen 2 Surf System, NcNew said. He won the World’s Greatest Skier competition in 2001 and Wakeboarding Magazine’s Legend Award in 2008. He also launched the now global “Pass the Handle” program in 2013 to help expose more people to tow sports.

“Legendary athlete, sales and product development superstar, and all around great guy, we can simply add gratitude to the list of descriptors about Zane Schwenk,” McNew wrote. “On behalf of MasterCraft, we wish him the very best in his new role.”
