Misty Harbor Boats touts sales growth

Iowa-based Misty Harbor Boats said it saw sales of its pontoon boats rise 32 percent last autumn from the previous year.

Iowa-based Misty Harbor Boats said it saw sales of its pontoon boats rise 32 percent last autumn from the previous year, citing expansion into new markets as the cause of the growth.

“We’ve redeveloped a large swath of our available boat models, designed new decks per our dealer network and are energized by dealers who continue to invest their business success with our brand,” sales and marketing director Jeff Martin said in a statement.

For several years, Misty Harbor was growing its dealer network in northern territories.

“Now we have a broadened focus to strategically work within new markets to recruit and build a thriving dealer network that is taking our company to the next level,” Martin said. “It’s like going from your freshman year into your sophomore year knowing you have what it takes to hold your own.”

Misty Harbor said it has been one of the fastest-growing pontoon brands in Florida for the past two years and that growth is occurring throughout the Southeast and southern Midwest states.

“When we first began prospecting new markets, dealers were asking ‘Who’s Misty Harbor? I’ve never heard of you.’ Now we have dealers in these same regions calling us and inquiring about our brand,” Martin said.
