The Seattle-based maker of marine power generation and climate control products said Purdy’s responsibilities will include day-to-day management of the sales department and staff and strategically assisting all Northern Lights branches in all market segments — recreational and commercial marine and industrial products.

The company said Purdy received a degree from the Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix for diesel engines. He returned to Seattle and started a successful charter bus company. After selling the company, he entered the trucking industry, working for Freightliner Corp. and then International Truck Dealerships.

Northern Lights said Purdy has attended sales, equipment and executive leadership programs, including DePaul University and the Disney Institutes Leadership Excellence program.
