Otam’s new yacht is powered by twin 2,600-hp diesels and has an estimated top speed of about 55 mph.

The latest model of the Otam Shipyard’s Millennium line, the 80 HT Mystere, will be introduced in September at the Cannes Yachting Festival.

Measuring 83.7 feet with a beam of 19.9 feet, the new hardtop yacht has a deep-vee hull and is powered by twin 2,600-hp MTU M94 engines with Arneson surface drives that pushed the boat to speeds exceeding 55 mph in initial sea trials.

Otam said the new yacht’s cruising speed is 47 mph at 2,150 rpm.

An earlier version of the 80 HT had four engines, but Otam said the new configuration enabled the designers to create a more spacious interior. Belowdecks, two staterooms were designed with no steps at the request of the owner.

The boat also has a third VIP cabin, a standalone galley and separate access to the crew quarters in the bow.
