As it celebrates 40 years of manufacturing, Rossiter Boats announced it added 10 new dealers in recent months in New England and South Florida.

Rossiter also said it will introduce “an exciting new model for picnicking, island hopping or cottage hauling” this fall.

With an expanding dealer family comes expanded sales — a “three-fold increase in sales,” according to president and owner Scott Hanson.

“Thanks to the dedication of New England, Mid-Atlantic and South Florida representatives and a growing list of dealers from the Great Lakes to Florida, the number of boaters enjoying the Rossiter experience has increased exponentially again in 2013,” Hanson said in a statement.

Rossiter builds semicustom rowboats and outboard powerboats, including seven models of rowing boats, which include yacht tenders, skiffs, recreational sport shells and its most popular model, the 17-foot Loudon.

The Markdale, Ontario-based builder expanded its powerboat division in recent years from the Rossiter 14 to include two models of the Rossiter 17 — a center console version and a classic runabout.

The powerboat line has led the sales gains, Hanson says, particularly in the Great Lakes region and New England.

“In the case of one dealer who has carried the Rossiter line for over four years now, their Rossiter powerboat sales have increased from five units last year to 13 units sold to boaters this spring alone,” Hanson said.
