Sabre Yachts began building sailing and motor yachts in 1970 near Portland, Maine, and its boats range from 36 to 54 feet. In 2003 Sabre launched sister company Back Cove Yachts, which builds boats from 26 to 34 feet. Back Cove was formed when a group of dealers asked for a smaller Down East-style cruising boat.
Sabre Yachts debuted the new 66 Dirigo, the largest Sabre motoryacht to date, at the Feb. 11-15 Yachts Miami Beach show.
Sabre Yachts will hold its 45th anniversary rendezvous on Aug. 17 and 18 in Rockland, Maine.
