Sunbird Yachts to build patrol boats for China

China National Ocean Service awarded Sunbird Yachts its latest "Island Inspection & Protection Patrol Boat Design and Construction Project."

Sunbird Yachts will deliver 34 units of 19-meter patrol boats in the coming year to the Chinese agency.

The project is valued at $41 million, the company said.

Sunbird has two plants in China and a total work force of more than 1,000. It builds recreational, commercial and government boats.
