Soundings Trade Only won an Apex Award of Excellence in newswriting for its article, "Genmar Aftershocks Rattle Industry."

The article, written by associate editor Beth Rosenberg, appeared in the July 2009 issue of the magazine. It was one of 13 articles recognized in the newswriting category.

There were more than 3,700 entries for this year's Apex awards. One hundred grand awards were handed out, along with 1,132 awards of excellence in 127 subcategories.

Apex awards are handed out annually by Communications Concepts. This year marks the 22nd year of the awards program.
