Turquois Yachts names new CEO

Effective July 2019, Turquois Yachts will have a new board of directors and management team.

Mehmet Karabeyoglu, founder and shareholder of Turquois Yachts, is relinquishing the CEO position to Patrik von Sydow. Karabeyoglu will remain on the board of directors with Dr. Mohammed al Barwani and Arie Van Andel. In a statement, the company said, “Karabeyoglu will be paying special attention to sales and marketing.”

Sydow has dual citizenship in Sweden and Great Britain and has been a CEO and managing director of several international companies. He has managed engineering companies with advanced manufacturing processes including FMCG, security, automotive, commercial vessels and luxury yachts.

Andel comes from Ocean Yachts where he held numerous positions during a 20-year tenure including chief operation officer and chief technical offices.

With roots dating back to the 1970s, Turquoise has delivered more than 30 yachts including Turquois, Talisman C, Vicky, ROE and GO. The company’s facilities include a new dry dock and currently there are four superyachts in various stages of completion.

Lippert Components Rebrands

The company’s core line of marine, RV and commercial products, including Lewmar and Taylor Made, will be branded as Lippert.
