Viking Yachts had 7,000 attendees come through its 16-vessel display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which ran Oct. 31 through Nov. 4, which included sportfishing and motoryachts from 37 to 93 feet.

Nine boats were sold at the show and about half a dozen more leads are in various stages of negotiation, according to the company.

Demand for the new 58 Convertible, which made its world premiere at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, has exceeded expectations.

“We’re successful with every model we release, but there are times when you hit one right out of the ball park,” Healey told Trade Only Today.

On the opening day of the show, Viking president and CEO Pat Healy announced that several new Vikings will soon be introduced, including the new 38 Billfish and the 38 Open.

The 38 Billfish, which will debut in Miami, and 38 Open were designed and built with the same genes as their predecessor, the 37 Billfish, said communication director Chris Landry.
