January 4 

Safe Harbor Marinas acquires Rybovich, which caters to the superyacht industry via its two marina and service center locations in Palm Beach County, Fla.


January 5

OneWater Marine adds the full-service Roscioli Yachting Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to its portfolio.


January 5 

Malibu Boats acquires Maverick Boat Group, which comprises the Cobia, Pathfinder, Maverick and Hewes brands, for about $150 million. The builder was founded by Scott Deal in 1984.


February 4 

Suntex Marina Investors adds Prime Marina Miami in Coconut Grove, Fla., and changes name to Bayshore Landing.


March 11 

Freedom Boat Club acquired its Chicago franchise and territory. The transaction includes three club locations in downtown Chicago and one in the city’s northwest suburbs.

March 15 

Patrick Industries acquires Sea-Dog Corp., an Everett, Wash.-based wholesale distributor of marine and powersports hardware and accessories.

March 30 

Huntsville, Ala.-based T-H Marine adds BHP Marine to its portfolio of brands. BHP products include ground tackle, anchor and dock lines, fenders and more.

April 8 

Freedom Boat Club adds the New York franchise operation and territory. The transaction includes six Long Island locations and corresponding territory rights for all of Long Island, New York City (excluding Staten Island) and areas of Westchester County.

April 12 

Patrick Industries completes its acquisition of Hyperform, which operates under the SeaDek name. 

April 14 

West Marine and financial partner Monomoy Capital entered into an agreement under which private equity firm L Catterton will take a controlling interest in the company’s ownership. The U.S.’s largest marine retailer operates 237 locations in 38 states and Puerto Rico.


May 3 

MarineMax acquires Oconto, Wis.-based KCS International, the parent company of Cruisers Yachts, paying $63 million for the 68-year-old builder.


May 4 

Safe Harbor Marinas acquires Lauderdale Marine Center in a reported $340 million deal. The location offers extensive repair and refit services.


May 18 

Limestone Boats adds Ebbtide Holdings, manufacturer of the Aquasport and Boca Bay brands, and assumed control of Ebbtide’s 145,000-square-foot facility in White Bluff, Tenn.


May 20 

White River Marine Group, the boatbuilder affiliate of Bass Pro Shops, acquires Hatteras Yachts with plans to invest $35 million to modernize the New Bern, N.C., facility and move manufacturing of its saltwater brands — Mako and Ranger Saltwater — from the Midwest to New Bern. 


May 24 

Miami-based Lionheart Capital, an investment firm headed by Ophir Sternberg, partners with attorney and entrepreneur John H. Ruiz to purchase Cigarette Racing Team for an undisclosed price. The new team envisions a branded line of PWC, a 120-foot yacht and more.


May 26 

Dometic adds Bend, Ore.-based outfit Zamp Solar, bolstering its mobile power solutions product line for the RV and marine segments.

June 1 

British Columbia-based Mustang Survival adds Ocean Rodeo, a manufacturer of dry wear for watersports enthusiasts, professional athletes and commercial maritime use.

June 2 

Warbird Marine Holdings acquires Yellowfin Yachts.


June 8 

Vision Marine Technologies adds EB Rental in Newport Beach, Calif., as another avenue to showcase the brand’s e-powered craft and E-Motion 180E outboard and powertrain system.

June 15 

OneWater Marine acquires Stone Harbor Marina in New Jersey.

June 23 

Southern Marinas announces its purchase of Ocean Isle Marina in North Carolina.


June 24 

Brunswick Corp. acquires Norway-based Navico, the parent company of Lowrance, B&G, Simrad and C-MAP, for $1.05 billion.

June 29 

Willis Custom Yachts announces its acquisition of the assets of American Custom Yachts, in Stuart, Fla.

July 1 

MarineMax adds Nisswa Marine, a full-service dealership in Nisswa, Minn.

July 6 

Drew International adds Trac-Ecological, a Florida-based supplier of environmentally friendly chemical solutions for the maritime industry.

July 9 

Freedom Boat Club acquires Fanautic Club, one of the largest European clubs, with 23 locations in Spain. The acquisition expands Freedom’s holdings in Europe, where it also has locations in France and the U.K.

July 15 

Southern Marinas adds Elliott Bay Marina in Seattle, one of the largest facilities on the West Coast, with more than 1,200 slips for vessels to 300 feet, hundreds of moorings, repair facilities, two restaurants, a Freedom Boat Club and more.


July 20 

Winnebago Industries acquires Bristol, Ind.-based Barletta Pontoon Boats in a $270 million deal. Last year, Barletta’s network of 125 dealer locations in North America generated $120.6 million in revenue.


July 20 

OneWater Marine adds Venice, Fla.-based dealership Naples Boat Mart.

July 27 

OneWater Marine adds PartsVu, an online retailer offering a wide range of parts and accessories, replacement engine parts, service kits and more, with intuitive tools to help customers find genuine OEM parts.

August 4 

LCI Industries subsidiary Lippert acquires Furrion for an undisclosed amount. The company, which has headquarters in Elkhart, Ind., and Hong Kong, forecasts that 2021 net sales will be approximately $230 million.


August 9 

Patrick Industries adds Nashville, Ga.-based Coyote Manufacturing Co., a designer and fabricator of boat trailers, towers, T-tops, leaning posts and other components.

August 10 

T-H Marine Supplies acquires Designer Tool and Products, a supplier of hatches, deck plates and seals headquartered in Tampa, Fla.

August 10 

Port 32 Marinas acquires three Florida facilities — in Naples, Marco Island and Cape Coral — from Walker Marine Group. The three marinas comprise around 1,015 slips and sales and service by long-term tenant OneWater Marine.

August 25 

Suntex Marina Investors signs the first deal in its new partnership with Centerbridge Capital and Resilient Capital Partners: Faro Blanco Marina in Marathon, Fla.


August 30 

Patrick adds Tumacs Covers, which serves the marine industry as a supplier of custom boat covers, canvas frames and Bimini tops.


September 1 

Brunswick Corp. adds RELiON Battery, a Rock Hill, S.C.-based lithium battery and related product company that serves the marine and RV segments and produces industrial applications.

September 17 

Dometic adds cooler and drinkware manufacturer Igloo in a $677 million deal. Igloo reported more than $400 million in net sales last year, with 92 percent of sales in the United States.


September 20 

Brunswick Corp. adds SemahTronix, a global supplier of wiring harnesses and cable assemblies for the marine, mobile and defense industries. 


October 5 

MarineMax enters into an agreement to acquire Intrepid Powerboats. Headquartered in Largo, Fla., Intrepid builds a fleet of outboard fishing boats and other models from 24 to 47 feet.


October 11 

Southern Marinas purchases Millstone Resort and Marina on Lake of the Ozarks in Gravois Mills, Mo.

October 18 

Freedom Boat Club acquires all seven of its Connecticut franchises and the rights to expand and build new locations within the state.

October 21 

OneWater Marine reached an agreement to acquire parts and accessories provider T-H Marine for about $185 million.

October 22 

Industrial technology manufacturing company Littelfuse adds Carling Technologies for $315 million.

November 1 

MarineMax acquires Texas MasterCraft, the largest MasterCraft dealer in the world, and Patrick Industires adds marine audio outfit Wet Sounds.
