ACR Electronics promotes life-jacket record-setting event

ACR Electronics is joining efforts to promote the National Safe Boating Council’s “Ready Set Wear It” event at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at John U Lloyd State Park in Hollywood, Fla.

Participants in cities around the globe will simultaneously gather to set a world record for the most life jackets worn.

The goal of “Ready Set Wear It” is not only to promote comfortable and versatile options when it comes to selecting life jackets, but also to educate the public about general safe-boating practices, such as carrying a 406 MHz beacon.

Attendees also will have access to the Boater’s Resource tent, as well as access to free boat safety checks, which will be conducted by the Coast Guard Auxiliary.
