AkzoNobel unveils new warranty program

AkzoNobel Yacht Coatings announced an extension and expansion of the warranty program for its Awlgrip, Interlux and International premium yacht paint systems.

Coverage was extended to 18 months covering professionally applied coatings on all newly built or refitted vessels.

“In all our years providing high-performance coatings solutions to beautify and protect yachts, the AkzoNobel Yacht Coatings warranty has offered professionals a solid promise that we back our products long after they leave the shop,” AkzoNobel yacht segment manager Chris Toole said in a statement. “Now, to reflect the performance advances we’ve achieved in our premium ranges, we are upgrading our warranty program to cover more for longer.”

Seven Marine unveils two new motors at Miami show

Outboard motor manufacturer Seven Marine introduced new 527-hp and 577-hp versions and a redesigned 627-hp model of its engine that is based on a GM LS V-8 engine. All the motors are also offered with the company’s new twin-prop CR (contra-rotating) gearcase.

Two Chapman awards handed out at 2018 Miami show

On Friday morning at the annual Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show’s Innovation Breakfast, National Marine Manufacturers Association Thom Dammrich presented the 2018 Charles Chapman Award to Tom Marhevko of NMMA and to Phil Cappel of the United States Coast Guard.
