B&G debuts new sailing chart plotter

B&G said it introduced the Vulcan 9 sailing chart plotter for coastal cruising and club racing sailboats.

B&G said it introduced the Vulcan 9 sailing chart plotter for coastal cruising and club racing sailboats.

The 9-inch chart plotter uses a bright multitouch screen and menu structure that allows users to set courses and read wind speed and direction, depth and other functions, the company said.

“The new addition to the Vulcan family brings high-tech sailing features to our entry-level range of chart plotters and really shows how B&G is ensuring everyday sailors have access to the best technology, previously only afforded to the top racing yachts,” Navico CEO Leif Ottosson said in a statement.

“From its high-speed GPS, SailSteer, ForwardScan sonar, to the addition of Broadband Radar, every part of the new Vulcan 9 has been designed to meet the needs of sailors of all levels.”

The company said the new chart plotters will be available in December.
