In addition to navigational information, Lowrance and Simrad chart plotters now show Evinrude engine data.

Evinrude partnered with Navico, the parent company of Lowrance, Simrad and B&G, to integrate engine data into Lowrance and Simrad navigation and sonar products.

A software update for select Navico displays shows Evinrude E-TEC G2 engine data on plotter screens, eliminating the need for additional gauges or hardware. Also, certain engine features can be controlled from the multifunction display.

Lowrance and Simrad displays show engine rpm, temperature, and fuel and oil levels, as well as custom Evinrude messages for water in fuel, overheat warnings and other recovery actions. Users also have control of Evinrude’s iTrim control system, iSteer power steering and the “one-touch” auto-winterization functions through the touch screen.

“Partnering with Lowrance and Simrad enables us to elevate our engine’s capabilities with features that improve accessibility for boaters,” Nando Zucchi, vice president of marketing and international business development at Evinrude, said in a statement. “This new integration makes the Evinrude E-TEC G2 even easier to use.”
