A benefit hockey match pitting the Oshkosh (Wis.) Ice Devils against a combined team of Evinrude and Mercury Marine employees raised close to $2,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The Evinrude/Mercury team beat the Ice Devils, 7-3.

"What a great time and a great cause," BRP/Evinrude vice president Roch Lambert said in a statement. "The Evinrude team had a great time playing with the Mercury guys, and it was well worth the travel to skate against a strong opponent."

Sponsors of the Sept. 27 event included Evinrude Outboards, American Marine of Shawano, Crownline Boats, Mercury Marine, Cranky Pat's Pizza, Oshkosh YMCA, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network, and Flair Flexible Packaging Corp.
