Furuno USA rolls out Facebook contest

Furuno USA is looking to connect with consumers through Facebook and will be rewarding fans for “liking” its page by running a contest.

Furuno USA is looking to connect with consumers through Facebook and will be rewarding fans for “liking” its page by running a contest.

The company’s goal is to hit at least 15,000 “likes” by the end of the year. For every thousand new “likes” it hits, the electronics manufacturer will randomly draw a name from its Facebook fan base and give that person a Furuno GP1670F chart plotter/fish finder combo unit valued at $700.

If the Facebook page hits 15,000 “likes” by Dec. 31, the company will up the ante by giving away one of its recently introduced NavNet TZtouch2 12.1 MFDs valued at $4,000.

Furuno also will give away hats and T-shirts along the way.

“We are looking for new ways to connect and communicate with our customers,” Furuno USA advertising and communications manager Jeff Kauzlaric said. “Social media allows us to not only provide information, but also receive information from customers. This social interaction will allow us to be more customer-focused and service-oriented while gaining some new friends along the way.”

To join in Furuno’s 15K Fan Fest Giveaway, visit the company’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/Furuno.
