Garmin signs OEM deal with Robalo and Chaparral

Garmin International announced a new OEM relationship with Robalo and Chaparral boats in conjunction with the Miami International Boat Show.

Robalo selected Garmin to be the exclusive electronics supplier for its outboard-powered fishing boats. Chaparral selected Garmin to be the exclusive electronics supplier for its recreational pleasure boats, which range from 18-foot bowriders to 42-foot luxury cruisers.

Garmin exclusivity across the Robalo and Chaparral lines was expected to begin immediately.

Ten Robalo boat models from 22 to 30 feet will be factory-installing electronics selections that include touch-screen multifunction displays and portrait plotters. The full suite of Garmin electronics that Robalo selected also includes the GMR 24HD high-definition radome, GMR 404 open array radar, GSD 22 digital sonar, VHF 100 and 200 marine radios, and GXM 51 XM satellite weather/audio antenna.

More than a dozen Chaparral boat models will be factory-installing electronics selections that include touch-screen multifunction displays. The full suite of Garmin electronics that Chaparral selected also includes the GMR 18HD and GMR 24HD high-definition radomes, GMR 404 open array radar, GSD 22 digital sonar, VHF 200 marine radio, and GXM 51 XM satellite weather/audio antenna.
