J.D. Power and Associates will release the results of its 2009 boat and engine studies during the Miami International Boat Show next week.

The Boat Competitive Information Study provides an in-depth analysis of product quality, customer satisfaction and dealer sales and service, covering 61 boat brands in seven boat segments. The Marine Engine Competitive Information Study, which includes 12 engine brands, measures quality and customer satisfaction based on such factors as ease of starting, acceleration, reliability and fuel consumption.

Todd Markusic, senior director of the powersports practice at J.D. Power and Associates, will announce the results and present the awards to the highest-ranked boat and engine manufacturers.

The presentation will be held at 9 a.m. Feb. 12 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
