Journey Catamarans reached an agreement with Jet-Tern Marine, the builders of Selene Trawlers, for Jet-Tern Marine to build the new Journey 46 Long Range Catamaran.

As part of the agreement, Journey will market the new product through the worldwide Selene dealer network.

"Built to the same level of quality as the Selene, the affordable, fast and cutting-edge Journey 46 will sell itself," said Kevin Frawley, principal of Selene Florida in Fort Lauderdale. "I foresee excellent sales because veteran cruisers will be attracted to this innovative product, with its efficient hull design and smooth-as-butter ride."

Tooling on the Journey 46 LR Cat has started at Jet-Tern's Zhuhai Shipyard in China. Construction is scheduled to start in February. A U.S. buyer and an Asian buyer for hulls No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, will see their vessels completed in May and July 2011.
