MerCruiser announces layoffs in Oklahoma

The Mercury MerCruiser engine plant in Stillwater, Okla., laid off 135 hourly and salaried employees in the last two weeks, spokesman Steve Fleming confirmed to Soundings Trade Only this morning.

There are currently 200 hourly and 200 salaried employees at MerCruiser, Fleming said.

"There are no additional cuts scheduled, but Mercury and MerCruiser will continue to monitor product demand and made appropriate adjustments," he added.
