Employees at the Mercury MerCruiser plant in Stillwater, Okla., are getting a special thank-you today from one of their customers.

Ernie Butler, owner of Snoopy's Pier in Corpus Christi, Texas, is bringing 300 pounds of gulf shrimp to Stillwater to cook for employees, the Stillwater NewsPress reports. In addition to his restaurant, Butler owns a company that catches shrimp to be used for fishing bait.

Tuesday's luncheon comes at a time MerCruiser workers are facing a troubled economy and concerns about the future of the company. The latest round of layoffs, announced earlier this month, reduced MerCruiser's work force to about 400 workers.
