High-performance engine and accessories manufacturer Mercury Racing will be part of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout on the Strip this afternoon.

The show is taking place on the Bagwell Dam Strip on Lake Ozark, Mo. It starts at 5 p.m., and Mercury Racing will have a spot on News Talk KRMS 1150 AM/97.5 FM/104.9 FM/live streaming audio.

On display in the Mercury Racing Experience truck will be the new QC4 860 sterndrive and the Verado 400R Carbon Edition outboard. Additionally, Dr. Michael Janssen will showcase his Outerlimits powerboat as part of the Mercury Racing QC4 experience at the Shootout on the Strip Meet and Greet and at an Outerlimits customer appreciation party. Visitors also can buy the official Mercury Racing LOTO event T-shirt at the display.

Factory representatives will include national sales manager Kevin Skiba and performance propeller manager Scott Reichow. Mercury service representative Chris Moore will be there to answer questions.

The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is in its 29th year and is one of the premier performance-boating events in the country. The shootout takes place on Saturday and Sunday, with boats running one at a time down a three-quarter-mile course. The goal is to run as fast as possible and win your class.

There are Top Gun trophies for the fastest overall boat, as well as the fastest V-bottom and catamaran. As the event has grown it has turned into a weeklong festival that includes radio-controlled boat racing, a stereo shootout and a poker run.
