My-Villages releases DockMaster 8.0 software

My-Villages announced Monday that version 8.0 of DockMaster, its suite of marine business software, finished its beta period and is now available with a host of new and improved features.

DockMaster 8.0 automates all business activities, such as inventory, service and repair, billing, customer relationship management, boat sales and transient reservations, in one platform.

As with its previous software releases, My-Villages offers a “hosted” solution that allows boatyards, marinas, service companies and other businesses to move their hardware, software and data to the cloud.

“Many industries have been doing business in the cloud for years. It’s more secure, cost-effective and efficient, resulting in better customer service and, ultimately, improved profit margins,” My-Villages founder and CEO Kevin Hutchinson said in a statement. “DockMaster 8.0 is also a very flexible solution, allowing customers a choice of a hosted service in the Cloud, or to install the application and store their data locally as well.”
