Navionics, Fugawi team up on course planner

Navionics - the Wareham, Mass.-based manufacturer of electronic charting and navigation data - and Northport Systems Inc., which manufactures Fugawi navigation software, introduced the Navionics NavPlanner2, powered by Fugawi.

The NavPlanner2 is an atlas for the home computer of all U.S. coastal waters, navigable waterways and more than 12,000 inland lakes. The software also includes Navionics' 2010 database of exclusive high-definition freshwater lakes, according to the company.

The planning tool will be available for purchase March 22 from authorized Navionics and Fugawi retailers throughout the United States and Canada and directly from Fugawi for $129.
