Volvo Penta announces its new Penta Protection program, which combines the two-year Volvo Penta factory limited warranty with an additional three years of coverage through First Protection Corp.

Penta Protection is standard for all gasoline EFI sterndrive engines manufactured after July 1 and delivered in North America.

Penta Protection consists of two parts: a two-year Volvo Penta factory limited warranty and a three-year Volvo Penta Extended Protection limited warranty that provides coverage for mechanical breakdowns that might occur following the expiration of the Volvo Penta limited factory warranty.

The Volvo Penta Extended Protection limited warranty is administered by FPC, with more than 15 years of providing post-factory warranty coverage for Volvo Penta owners. After the second year of ownership, FPC administrators work directly with Volvo Penta servicing dealers to ensure that needed repairs are made timely and correctly to get the boat owner back on the water fast.

"With the current economic uncertainties, Volvo Penta believes that now is the right time to offer new boat owners the assurance that their Volvo Penta EFI engines are backed by industry-leading limited warranties for many years," said Bob Apple, senior vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement.

Details of the program can be obtained directly from Volvo Penta of the Americas or from a Volvo Penta dealership.
