Pelican Products, which designs and makes high-performance protective watertight cases and coolers, is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Founded in 1976, the company said it has expanded to serve three customer bases — commercial and government, its consumer division and biothermal.

Based in Torrance, Calif., Pelican said it operates in 23 countries, with 30 offices and six manufacturing facilities around the world.

“Pelican has been on an amazing journey from its beginnings in a garage in 1976 to becoming the global power in the design and manufacture of the toughest products in their categories,” Pelican president and CEO Lyndon Faulkner said in a statement.

“Our continued success is a testament to the people who have contributed their ideas, vision, enthusiasm and hard work over the years.”
