Skeeter owners event draws record numbers

The annual Skeeter Owner’s Bass Tournament held in Lake Fork, Texas, concluded with attendance of 2,295 anglers and 1,181 Skeeter boats from around the country.

This annual family event continues to grow in popularity and has become a major event for the Yamaha and Skeeter brands.

The winner of this year’s event, Charles Doss from Fort Worth, Texas, took home the grand prize of a new Skeeter FX20 equipped with a Yamaha 250 SHO for his catch of 11.19 pounds.

Robbie Johnson from Good Rich, Texas won a brand new Yamaha Wolverine X4 SE Side-by-Side.

“We couldn’t be happier with the response to our annual owners’ tournament,” said Skeeter Boats senior vice president and general manager Jeff Stone in a statement. “Our staff conducted over 380 demo rides and also managed to cook over 2,000 pounds of brisket, 2200 hot links, and 85 gallons of Skeeter beans, truly making this a Skeeter and Yamaha family event.”

Skeeter’s factory and corporate headquarters are in Kilgore, Texas.

“This is our 25th year hosting the Skeeter Owners’ tournament, and every year we’ve increased participation from vendors, boat owners and attendees,” said senior marketing projects manager JoAnne O’Bryant. “This event is our way of thanking all Skeeter boat owners, past, present and future, who helped get us to where we are today and we are already excited for the 26th anniversary in 2019.”
