Solar-powered boat starts Erie Canal journey
Solar power proponents see recreational boating as another area where solar energy can provide a green alternative to outboard-engine-powered boating.
The solar-powered Solar Star 23 cruise boat from Stardancer Yachts made its public debut Sunday with the start of a journey along the 363-mile long Erie Canal, beginning in Buffalo, N.Y.

The 23-foot boat, with its revolutionary displacement trimaran-shaped hull, was designed in New Zealand and built in Arizona.
