SureShade, a designer and manufacturer of retractable sunshade systems for the marine industry, was honored Monday with the selection of the company's inventor, operations leader and co-founder, Ron Russikoff, as a 2011 "Movers and Shakers" nominee in the industry.

The Boating Industry Movers & Shakers Recognition Program by Boating Industry magazine recognizes marine industry executives who have delivered financial results, vision, leadership and innovation to shape the boating business of today and tomorrow.

Russikoff was honored as an industry leader who employed bold strategies to launch and grow the SureShade business in the boating industry despite challenging economic conditions.

Led by Russikoff’s vision and perseverance, SureShade invested in new sunshade product designs and enhancements, secured marine technology patents, grew its client base and developed unprecedented service support standards for OEMs and dealers since the initial product launch at the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference in 2007.

“Rather than retreat and wait for things to get better, it was all about getting to one boatbuilder,” Russikoff said. “It was about getting one OEM in place. The OEM had to be extremely visionary, one that could see beyond what was going on at the time and be able to look into the future.”
