Volvo Penta Names New President

Heléne Mellquist has been tapped as the new president of Volvo Penta and as a new member of Volvo Group management.

Mellquist replaces Björn Ingemanson, who is retiring after “a long and successful career,” according to the company.

Mellquist, whose career at Volvo Group began in 1988 and has included several senior positions since; she currently serves as president for the European division at Volvo Trucks. She also held the position as CEO at TransAtlantic from 2012 to 2015.

Mellquist will join Volvo Penta on July 1, and take on her new role Sept. 1.
