The State of Wisconsin is offering more than $1.75 million in additional assistance to 1,200 dislocated workers who were formerly employed by 11 manufacturers, including Genmar Yacht Group, Marinette Marine and the Manitowoc Company.

This is the second and final portion of the $3.4 million national emergency grant announced last August that provides funding to states when significant events create a sudden need for financial help.

The announcement was made Tuesday by Gov. Jim Doyle and reported by a public sector news and information site.
