B.A.S.S. and the Yamaha Marine Group signed an agreement under which Yamaha will continue to sponsor Bassmaster events through 2016.
Yamaha is an official premier engine sponsor of all B.A.S.S.-owned events, which include the Bassmaster Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens Series, Carhartt Bassmaster College Series and the grass-roots B.A.S.S. Nation regional tournaments.
Also included is the Bassmaster Classic, the annual world championship of bass fishing.
”At Yamaha, we build the most reliable way to get to the fish,” Yamaha Marine Group division manager of marketing Dale Barnes said in a statement. “We are proud of that, and we are excited to have the best venue in the sport of bass fishing where we can demonstrate it all season long. We are happy to have signed with B.A.S.S., which provides spectators with the opportunity to get up close and learn from team Yamaha anglers, or to compete themselves. There is nothing else like it.”
“B.A.S.S. is proud to continue with Yamaha as one of our valuable sponsors,” B.A.S.S., CEO Bruce Akin said in a statement. “As leaders in the fishing industry, Yamaha and B.A.S.S. are able to promote the sport together in a way that makes a difference.”
The Yamaha Marine Group, based in Georgia, markets and supports a full line of four-stroke outboards for bass and other boats. B.A.S.S., based in Alabama, is the most prestigious fishing tournament organization in the world and is a membership organization of more than 500,000 avid bass anglers.
At Bassmaster events, Yamaha showcases its V MAX SHO outboard built to power bass boats. One of Yamaha’s pros, Brandon Palaniuk of Rathdrum, Idaho, won the Evan Williams Bourbon Showdown last Sunday at the St. Lawrence River out of Waddington, N.Y.
