Yamaha U.S. Marine Business unit president Ben Speciale was awarded the Eddie Smith Manufacturer of the Year award, presented by the Center for Sportfishing Policy.

The honor was established in 2012 to honor manufacturers dedicated to conservation.

"Ben Speciale grew up on the water helping out with his family’s marina and dealership. He has a deep understanding of the relationship between conservation and a thriving marine industry,” said CSP president Jeff Angers in a statement. “Ben’s commitment to conservation is evident through his active advocacy efforts and the recent launch of Yamaha Rightwaters, a national sustainability program that encompasses all of Yamaha Marine’s conservation and water quality initiatives.”

Speciale serves as chief sales and marketing officer of marine engines and boat power systems and oversees Yamaha’s boat companies and subsidiaries.

In addition, Speciale serves as chairman of the National Marine Manufacturers Association board of directors.
