Perko and emissions system partner Delphi have introduced a smaller canister that will help boatbuilders meet new EPA gasoline fuel tank regulations, says George Bellwoar, Perko vice president of sales and marketing.

The regulations require builders to reduce hydrocarbon emissions from fuel systems. The half-liter Delphi canisters are 9-3/4 inches long by 3-1/2 inches wide and are EPA-certified for use on tanks holding as much as 45 gallons of gas for trailerable boats and 90 gallons for non-trailerable boats. “Hydrocarbons move in and out of the tank due to temperature swings during the day, and those swings are greater for boats that are out of the water,” Bellwoar says. The canisters range from a half-liter to 4 liters for tanks holding as much as 720 gallons of gas, Bellwoar says. Contact Perko for pricing. Perko, (305) 621-7525,; Delphi, (248) 813-2000.
