Keel Stand

Stand up and be heard - that's what Brownell Boat Stands of Mattapoisett, Mass., is trying to do with its new Keel Stand, an alternative to traditional wood blocks.

Using the stands can be faster than blocking boats in the traditional manner, reducing boatyard labor and increasing profit, says sales manager Peter Hughes. The stands are stackable, adjustable and made in the United States with domestic steel. The K3 stand has a minimum height of 24 inches and a maximum height of 30 inches, while the K4 has a minimum height of 16 inches and a maximum height of 24 inches. Use one keel stand for each 10,000 pounds of vessel weight. A minimum of two keel stands must be used. Wholesale prices are $69 for the K3 and $94 for the K4.
