NBA’s Phil Jackson will lead California boat parade

Eleven-time NBA championship coach Phil Jackson and his fiancee, Los Angeles Lakers executive vice president Jeanie Buss, will serve as grand marshals for the Marina del Rey (Calif.) Holiday Boat Parade.

The couple will ride on the boat Pastabilities from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 14 at the 51st annual Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade.

“Jeanie Buss and Phil Jackson are the ideal candidates for this event with this year’s theme being ‘Holiday Magic,” parade president Cindy Williams told the Daily Breeze News.

Buss has run the Lakers’ business operations for 14 years. She represents the team on the NBA’s Board of Governors.

Jackson led the Chicago Bulls to six championships in the 1990s and the Lakers to five during two stints coaching the team from 1999-2010.
